Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa’s Captiva Villas Set to Open March 19, 2007
Luxury, Gulf-Front Resort Offers Discerning Guests, High-End Vacation Experience
ESTERO ISLAND, Fla.– February 27, 2007 – Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa is capping off its multi-phase, multi-million
dollar transformation with the opening of Captiva Villas. The newest addition to Pink Shell further enhances the resort’s
reputation as the premier resort on Ft. Myers Beach, a tradition Pink Shell has upheld for more than 50 years.
Captiva Villas, a 43-unit condominium hotel, features the finest design amenities. Each unit is situated on the beach with
magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, each suite will be fully furnished with elegant, maple wood furnishings
and yacht theme décor. Select units will have an oversized sun deck with private lanais, while corner units will enjoy gulf
and bay views and private hot tub.
Kitchen features include galley-style kitchens with custom cabinetry, top-of-the-line appliances, dining bars, premium porcelain
tile floors and Sisal rugs. Bathrooms include granite counters, walk-in showers, soaking tubs and built-in vanities.
The interior was designed by Spectrum Design Services, led by Paula Jo Boykin. This award-winning group has designed hotels,
restaurants and corporate offices around the country including the Pink Shell’s White Sand Villas.

The transformation of Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa also included a renovation of the property’s Sanibel View Villas and Beach
Villas, followed by the 2004 opening of the resort’s White Sand Villas, a whimsically designed building with 92 one- and
two-bedroom villa-style accommodations which featured new meetings space; a state-of-the art spa, Aquagene; Bongo’s, a fun,
tropical poolside bar and grill; JoJo’s at the Beach and KiddsKampp, an adult-supervised children’s program.
The new amenities and facilities featured at Captiva Villas include:
Jack’s Sea Grille: Jack’s Sea Grille is a full-service restaurant. Created and overseen by Chef Craig, the 4,000
square-foot casual, al fresco restaurant consists of mouthwatering seafood and other specialties reflective of the Southwest
Florida lifestyle.
Fitness Center: Captiva Villas includes a new, state-of-the-art, 860 square-foot fitness center outfitted with equipment
from one of the industry’s leading brands, Precor. Offering breathtaking, floor-to-ceiling views of Matanzas Bay, the fitness
center is a welcomed addition to the facilities and amenities already available at Aquagene spa.
Sparky’s Fun Park: In keeping with Pink Shell’s continued tradition of family-friendliness, Sparky’s Fun Park is especially
designed with kids in mind. This wet play area features oversized “palm trees”, a mushroom-shaped maze that emits a round sheet of
water, as well as three cabanas that will be available for rent for the day. These added activities further enhance Pink Shell’s
reputation as the premier family destination on Ft. Myers Beach.
Meetings Room: The new meetings space at Captiva Villas complements the 5,500 square feet of flexible meetings space already
available at Pink Shell. With 680 square feet, the new meetings room accommodates up to 50 people with flexible and productive
meetings space.
In addition, Pink Shell offers team building activities for groups such as Conch Shell Blowing, Wacky Beach Olympics and Sparky’s
Survivor Challenge, among others.
