The Nineteenth Annual Caloosa Catch & Release has moved!
January 16, 2008 Fort Myers, Florida
Over $30,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at
The Nineteenth Annual Caloosa Catch & Release Presented by Maverick and Yamaha to be held on June 5-8,
2008 at its new host location: the four star Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa located on Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
The Caloosa Catch & Release is the first leg in the Caloosa Tournament Series and is the largest single site, public fishing series In
Florida also including the Back Country Classic, the Summer Slam and the Caloosa Grand Championship with a total purse of over
$125,000.
Anglers of all skill levels including a lady and youth division will compete over two fishing days for snook, redfish and trout all
on a catch and release basis. In addition, there are fun fish categories including a variety of chances to win money including:
biggest bait and a mystery fish named daily.
This tournament provides the ultimate experience for everyone and focuses on fun, families and fund raising. The event includes an
open bar at registration where anglers will receive custom T shirts and fishing shirts, hats and many other special tournament items.
All participants will enjoy three gourmet dinners with open bars, two continental breakfasts and two lunches.
During the tournament, there is a live and silent auction with a fabulous dinner and open bar which is open to the general public
with items including a boat, motor and trailer provided by Maverick, Yamaha and Boatmaster Trailer, art, jewelry, fishing gear,
resort packages, and much, much more.
The primary beneficiary of net proceeds of the Caloosa Tournament Series is The Florida Gulf Coast University Athletic Scholarship
program and several other organizations. To date over $400,000 in cash and in-kind donations has been provided to more than 45
charities in Southwest Florida.
